What to write to us about
Corrections. If a number on any page does not match the official 1991–2020 normals for the station named on that page, we want to know. Corrections are checked against the NCEI source file before we change anything, and verified corrections are made promptly — tell us the city, the month, and the figure you believe is wrong, and where you found the conflicting value.
Station and city suggestions. We profile 114 cities using one representative station each. If your city is missing, or you believe a different station better represents it (a downtown station versus an airport, for example), tell us which and why. Suggestions grounded in the official station network genuinely shape what we add next.
Data and reuse questions. The underlying normals are U.S. government data and are in the public domain; our writing and presentation are ours. If you are a teacher, researcher, or journalist who wants to understand how a figure was derived — which station, which months, how an annual total was computed — ask, and we will walk you through it.
What we cannot do
We are a climate reference, not a forecasting service. We cannot tell you what the weather will be on your wedding date, during your road trip, or at any specific future time — for that, and for watches, warnings, and anything safety-related, use the National Weather Service at weather.gov, which issues official forecasts and alerts for every U.S. location. Normals describe what a month is typically like across 30 years; they cannot promise what any single day will do.
